Folks: It is possible to believe (as I do) that people very close to Trump will be accused of some very ugly crimes. AND Believe that it violates the spirit of our Constitution to use the word "traitor" to describe Rand Paul's stupid comments.

Everyone rightly criticized Trump for accusing Peter Strzok of treason. Don't use the term cheaply yourselves.

As to Republicans who call the investigation a witch hunt? Honestly, the reporting on the Mueller probe has been shitty enough about key issues that I'm not surprised.

When Robert Mueller was head of the DOJ he illegally detained civilians after 9/11. Without charge or evidence. Some for as long as a year. If you care about the rule of law, you do not champion those who have a history to damage civil liberties.
-
Thanks! I covered Mueller pretty damn closely. I'm familiar with his record.
-
But yet you focus on Trump rather than a prosecutor with history of doing what you are worried about? Interesting.
-
Trump ALSO has a history of doing what I worry about AND he broke the law. That's just no biggie for you?
-
No that is a big concern. However the reason for Trump being able to cause damage, is because of people like Mueller.
-
Thanks. I write about that all the time. Do you want to lecture me about something that's pertinent to me or would you like to keep lecturing me about stuff I know and practice?
-
You don't however. That is my issue. You play the same games with partisanship you displayed in that tweet.
-
Oh REALLY? How so, smart lady who has no apparent familiarity with my work?

GOP Senators have taken an oath to protect our country. Rand Paul is saying that our intelligence agencies are on a Witch hunt. That is a traitor. Our FBI and intelligence agencies should be supported. GOP traitors that won't stand with Mueller and vote on a bill to protect him.

How has Mueller been sloppy? Please be specific.

She didn’t say that at all. You’re misinterpreting someone who is definitely an expert on this.

Couldn't agree more. It's contagious to immediately respond to Trumpists with a "you'll be in prison soon" but it makes me cringe. That's not how our system works. Being an idiot kool aid drinker doesn't mean someone's a criminal.
-
It's Trump's MO to call for the jailing of opponents. Don't play that game.

I feel the same way about people throwing around the word 'Nazi' towards individuals they do not like (like Trump). There are real Nazis, but Trump is not one of them.
-
Right. It's a matter of record that Hitler's actual convictions (his "Weltanschauung") motivated his genocidal motions. Trump has convictions, but, racist as many of them may be, they're mostly selfish--not really concerned with "big ideas" (about history, civilization, etc.).

Actually, Republicans have been calling Democrats traitors since Gingrich and it's worked great. Tit for tat is the optimal strategy. Let's try it for once.

Is “traitor” a legal term? Corn didn’t say he was guilty of treason.
