Mueller's indictment just put two more nails in the coffin of the Steele dossier's credibility:
1. Aleksej Gubarev - supposedly helped hack DNC
Not indicted
2. Michael Cohen - supposedly went to Europe to "pay off" hackers
Russian intelligence officers need paying off?

People on the left (
@emptywheel) are now spinning that the Russians were aware of Steele's work early on & deliberately fed him misinfo to further embarrass Crooked They choose to ignore that it formed the basis of the Page FISA2 replies 0 retweets 0 likes -

*I* choose to ignore it? That's outright bullshit. I've written extensively on it.

Apologies, if so. I've only read your latest where you theorize the dossier was a Russian Hoax & didn't see your thoughts on the fact is was the cornerstone of FISA warrant & what that means for the fruits of said warrant

Before I show you links, would you mind answering a few questions? Have you ever followed how FISAs work before? Are you familiar with\ the role of intelligence contractors in (eg) terrorism cases?

Was aware of FISA court at 30k foot level. Not sure what you mean by intel contractors? The folks the FBI let run loose in the NSA DB as noted by the FISC rpt declass'd 4/2017, or "spies"? Foreign spying in a cyber world is tough to prevent. IMHO, sensitive info s/n/b online

Hmm. You're confused and I'm willing to help if you want. For starters, FISA applications almost always have info from either informants (often working off a crime or getting paid) or--like Steele--intel contractors. Those are assessed by past track record. OK so far?

Also I was the first person to write on that 4/26/17 opinion. I've tracked those opinions meticulously for 10 years. Virtually everything written about it six months later that people tend to read is hysterically bad writing.

I've skimmed the report myself and read the specifics/footnote on p 84 (or 87?) about the contractors working in the database w little to no supervision

Different contractors. When I raised contractors I meant the people who get paid for information who are included in most individual FISA applications, and whose credibility is assessed in large part by past track record.
