Love that Wikileaks had a bunch of completely plaintext conversations with GRU to coordinate the delivery of stolen emails — and yet wasted a bunch of time trying to PGP encrypt the emails themselves. That is: the stuff they were planning to publish.

Probably based on the assumption that when the information has been published, it must have been plaintext. The other option is that whatever Gucciver 2.0 used (Telegram? Signal?) has been compromised, and we better knew what it was.

Sometimes the indictments say "message" and other times "email" so I'm guessing at least 2 channels in use.
