For conspiracy theorists -- including POTUS -- still suggesting FBI couldn't investigate this bc they didn't get the DNC "server" (there were a number of them). What do you think happened to this server in AZ leased by GRU?pic.twitter.com/bxzNRfetj8

That isn't what Comey said. He said it was best to have the servers. Can't have it both ways.
My assumption has been that the FBI would generally prefer to have their own forensic teams image hardware to ensure chain of custody but that having the images from Crowdstrike was "acceptable". (Assuming Crowdstrike was competent.)
Fair enough, but when the democracy of the US is at stake you would have thought it would be a priority. But it wasn't so I'll let them sell bullshit to the sheeple that are willing to believe their nonsense.
Also, the FBI were the ones who warned the DNC repeatedly and the DNC and their contractors were leaving all their machines running while they collected data and tried to kick out the hackers from their systems, whose data was changing over time. The FBI seemed cool with that.
And now we find that apparently the FBI knew all about and were monitoring hackers own server so they apparently really didn't need the actual DNC machines to see what was going on. So this "where is the DNC server" appears to be just propaganda.
Wow, everybody just let it all happen.
A lot of what the FBI alleges in the indictment was likely gathered after the fact by forensic analysis of logs and backups. I should say that they got data from the hacker's own server(s) (apparently AWS instances), not that they were necessarily monitoring in real time.
