So in all the controversy about Strozk, one question stands out in my mind: Why was a Deputy Assistant Director conducting subject interviews? Why was he down in the weeds when there were plenty of very successful agents available who conduct target interviews everyday?

In my mind, this speaks to the arrogance of Strozk, which for me is a bigger problem for the FBI than all of the alleged deep State conspiracies. Which, FTR, I don’t believe.

As an ASAC, I might be involved in formulating the questions, prepping the agents, and being first to debrief them after the interview, but I would never presume to be a better interviewer than those who do it every day
