Manafort thinks it's not newsworthy that the guy who does his witness tampering for him is a Russian spook. https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/4580565-USA-v-Manafort-Memo-On-Motion-To-Change-Venue-VA.html …pic.twitter.com/M5IWm86EtB

Having JUST argued that Alexandria is unfair bc it's part of Metro DC then says that the Alexandria Division of EDVA is teensy tiny (especially if you ignore defense contractors, I guess).pic.twitter.com/XLGB6VAPZh
But on balance I'm cool with this passage bc Manafort is trying to establish the precedent that bc people in the CIA/Pentagon District that prosecutes many leak cases are well-informed, defendants can argue for a change of venue.pic.twitter.com/xxjqFlX1mY
Apparently Byron York's work no longer shows up on a simple Google search.pic.twitter.com/uSqlDOV36Z
Now we're back in the gigundous DC Metro area. where everyone is preoccupied with politics. Apparently Manafort doesn't think a bunch of political influence peddlers are his peers in political influence peddling?pic.twitter.com/iLjN48cS55
Once upon a time a year long Special Counsel investigation was an eternity. But now it's far too short, especially since all the bad news has come in the last few weeks.pic.twitter.com/4EYW0RfmNR
Anyway, most of this is about (appropriately) preserving appeal. But if Manafort can establish precedents for defendants to argue themselves out of CIA's vicinity I'm all for it.
