More people should hang up on Trump's calls, probably. https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2018/06/18/donald-trumps-new-world-order …pic.twitter.com/BHltlEze6M

perhaps you could better explain why you think these episodes induced "panic" and whether it was genuine panic as opposed to manufactured outrage to deflect and distract. i guess your "larger point" is lost on me.
In more verbose contexts I have referred to it as a "pseudo-scandal." https://www.emptywheel.net/2018/05/19/did-nunes-unmasking-panic-betray-knowledge-of-the-collusion-with-the-saudis-and-emirates/ … The panic [used with sarcasm] is interesting to me bc it suggests Trump & Nunes were more worried abt certain non-RU comms being discovered than Ru ones.
To the extent that we continue to map the Israeli-KSA-UAE activities that 1) are a continuation of earlier efforts to kill JCPOA 2) demonstrate new violations of norms that might be embarrassing if surveilled, I'm interested in that. YMMV
fair enough. i still don't understand though: are trump & nunes genuinely worried about (aka real panic) or not (aka pseudo-scandal, manufactured outrage, panic used w/ sarcasm)? which is it? your response suggests... both?
Given the 2015 parallel (that is, Bibi working directly w/GOP MoCs to undercut JPCOA), I think they are genuinely upset the comms got read.
And the "panic," such as it exists, suggests concern that the GOP will be held accountable for interactions that, were it any other country, might merit a legal investigation (and might here, only insofar as they get sucked into RU investigation).
