I left the house 1.5 hours ago and Manafort was facing charges that would put him in prison for life. I'm back now and Manafort is facing charges that would put him in prison for life. There's a lot of hot air being generated over what has happened in last 1.5 hours.

Understand; a lot of the press has an incentive to pump up every Mueller move bc that's what sells advertising, even if the significance is more modest.

this is why I lol to myself when the dem pundits try to brag about the number of indictments/pleas.. if you want to judge it by how many actually showed up in court the count is like, 5
-
I think you're confusing guilty pleas with indictments. And by confusing that you're ignoring cooperating witnesses, which at this stage of an investigation are significantly more important than number of indictments.
-
true, but I guess my point (and yours?) is there's better metrics than just counting indictments
-
And by any legit measure Mueller has laid the ground work for a very serious legal case.

In an early indictment of Manafort, Mueller noted in a footnote that he provided proof of his ties to RU intelligence under seal.
-
He did?

These ties weren’t vestiges of a distant past, but were said to be active through 2016. In a footnote, Mueller asked for permission to submit evidence substantiating the charge in a sealed filing.https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2018/06/the-astonishing-tale-of-the-man-mueller-calls-person-a/562217/ …

His extradition is irrelevant. He wants to live in Kiev where his friends and family are and he is forced to live in Moscow. He can never travel again. Kilimnik's circumstances just got a lot worse, even if he never appears in an American court. His is a kind of prison sentence.

It means if Kilimnik is caught traveling to a country that has extradition with the US he is going to be up
$hit creek. Also, not a good look for Trump's former campaign manager to have conspired against the US with a former Russian intelligence officer.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

"The special counsel’s office has identified the man, Konstantin V. Kilimnik, Mr. Manafort’s former office manager in Kiev, as tied to a Russian intelligence agency. Mr. Kilimnik was also under investigation in Ukraine over espionage, but no charges were filed before he left ..
