Believe that's right.

I'm not sure of that. Isn't the entire point of the surety to guarantee not only that Manafort doesn't flee but also obeys the terms of the bail, which he most certainly did not? The surety is like a deposit to help ensure compliance. Violate bail, forfeit surety.

"Along with bail revocation, other penalties under the Act for violating release conditions or failing to appear include bond forfeiture, fines, and additional prison time, which is tacked on to the end of any other prison time received by the defendant."

He won't need it. They use cigarettes for money where he's going.

No, only if he attempts to flee; but, seizure can still occur, so.....

To flesh out what others have posted... the AUSAs may move to have his assets forfeited once/if the able Judge rules that he has in fact tampered with witnesses, while out on bail. [As a separate conviction essentially.] Until that happens, and the AUSAs make such a motion, no.

No. That’s not how bail works.
-
When you break the conditions of your bail, you get your bail money back?
-
No, but OP said if he gets denied bail. Breaking bail conditions is different. Then you lose it.
-
I can guarantee that not tampering with witnesses while on bail is a condition of his bail agreement.
-
Doing some searching on this... has his bail agreement been formally approved yet, or is he still under house arrest?
-
Mueller filed a motion to alter/repeal Manafort's bail agrmnt, based on this story. He wears ankle trackers and is on house arrest, according to his bail agrmnt in two different districts. He has an agreement but Manafort has filed for leniency, but that motion isn't complete.
-
I'm guessing that motion won't be approved and he will reside in jail for the foreseeable future. Property would probably be forfeit.
