yes, of course he says that. that's the messaging. crooked deep state is trying to get president removed from office based on a "hoax."

We agree that far. And I'm saying, once you build "this will go to impeachment" into your narrative, than you've laid out that that's your ultimate greatest fear. Not to mention that the entire strategy is an admission they have no facts or law left to argue.

neither can be inferred from giuliani's statement.

It's def a weird thing to say if your client hasn't done much wrong. The alternative to being an admission is that Giuliani is taking for granted this corrupt process will bring them all the way to impeachment, but he's fighting against the outcome of the corrupt impeachment now.

Granted, there's other dumb possibilities wrt what Giuliani is thinking. He's certainly not acting like he has an innocent client that's for sure

it's also a mistake, in my opinion, to think of giuliani primarily as trump's lawyer instead of as his public relations mouthpiece.

Absolutely true! But one of the best lawyers at this kind of role, Flood, came on after Rudy started doing this stuff, and willingly participated in it last week. So his *by far* most competent lawyer is cool with it.

yeah, and? the competent lawyer might just be competent enough to realize that trump's gonna trump and it's best to go along with it.

y'all think that you can draw some inference about trump's guilt or the degree of his legal predicament from those public utterances and actions by giuliani et al. and i say that's not the case, i.e. there is no relationship between those two things.

thought experiment: assume trump is 100% innocent and he knows it. would he be acting any differently?

Has John Dowd lied to him abt when this would end, y/n? Has Michael Cohen been raided, y/n? Why is he employing this far more, with one exception, than the Stormy challenge?

He would be acting differently bc in other legal cases he has acted differently. But you can't separate those other cases from being president, which is why I raise Stormy where ... he's acting somewhat differently.

That said, it's hard to imagine what Trump would do if he were innocent bc I'm not aware of any legal challenges of him where he was innocent.

I've just laid out how he has approached other legal issues (incl Stormy) differently EVEN IF he's guilty. So that's a yes. But for reasons other than your reasons (I think).
