    Really great reporting on the Quarryville meeting that figured in one Oath Keeper's arrest affidavit. Including this detail: [Stewart] "Rhodes did not attend the Quarryville meeting."

    New story this morning: There’s been a lot of speculation about a meeting in Quarryville three days prior to the January 6 capital riots. I was able to speak with two attendees as well as obtain a PowerPoint presentation shown at the meeting.

    As I've written repeatedly, Joe Biggs is the nexus between what unrolled at the Capitol and, through Alex Jones, Donald Trump. You won't get to Trump unless you succeed in holding Biggs accountable. So why not focus on how he implemented the coup attempt at the Capitol?

    Was Trump's coup attempt that culminated Jan. 6 not just anti-democracy and un-American, but also explicitly criminal? makes a solid case that pressuring Pence to break the law, a goal of both Trump and Capitol attackers, makes the answer yes.

    One more point: The terrorism statute only requires that an act "appear[s] to be intended" to coerce the government. But when people plead to the obstruction application DOJ is using, they are pleading to that intent.

    But thus far, the single defendant who pled to both elements of terrorism (violence plus intent to coerce), Scott Fairlamb, had extenuating circumstances that made a terrorism enhancement unviable.

    DOJ is ALREADY applying the terrorism enhancement, both in detention decisions (for militia members) and in plea negotiations (for those, not just militia members, who committed a crime of terrorism. 6 of 9 cooperators eliminated their terrorism enhancement by flipping.

    There are 2 ways Jan6ers are and might be labeled terrorism (which is applied at sentencing): 1) committing a crime of terrorism, of which 4 are relevant 2) by attempting to coerce, with or without support for a crime of terrorism

    International banks have not needed to join Russia’s SPFS because SWIFT still works. In the event of cutoff from SWIFT, there will be a huge demand to implement SPFS to buy Russian oil/gas/minerals, pay Russian workers of multinationals, get paid for selling goods/services, etc

    8) There is a misunderstanding among some that Russia is sanctions-proof b/c it created Western alternatives like SPFS or that China will help Russia out. SPFS could replace SWIFT technically, but it doesn’t have international outreach and lacks a wide network.
