One of the biggest indictments against the Serious People is the outsized premium they place on “civility” toward their ilk, relative to issues that have material impact on the lives of non-elites.

In Yemen, children are afraid for their lives in large part because of bombs made by and other defense companies. Children are being blown to pieces by their American weapons. By partnering with Raytheon, you and the are ignoring these horrific atrocities.

Back to the war in Afghanistan in the 1980s, I can’t believe it that even after the horrors of Sep. 11, and other terrorism by Al-Qa`idah, there are still people in the US who still argue that Bin Laden and his ilk are preferable to communists. Bin Laden?

I may be an outlier in that I think everyone should call him a motherfucker, exclusively, and so persistently that eventually even his own son forgets that’s not his name.

The House Dems aren't going to impeach Trump. They don't want to do it. They could impeach him right now on numerous corruption charges (beginning with his DC hotel). He running an open grift in the WH. Nothing could be more straightforward than addressing that. But they won't.

On second thought, maybe we should tone down the inflammatory language a bit. "Indict" the motherfucker.

Trump is a moron, but like Isaiah Berlin’s hedgehog, he knows one important thing. How to divert the press and the public’s attention from what is truly important toward whatever nonsense he wants them to focus on.

Over the past few months, the US has ignored queries about family separation of Central Americans at the US border with Mexico, death threats against a transgender activist in Seattle, and claims of anti-gay bias in the sentencing to death of a prisoner.

Rep. Liz Cheney, daughter of Dick Cheney, yesterday attacked "the fraud of socialism." Really? I wasn't aware that it was "socialism" that lied about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, and got us into a horrific war that we should never have started.

This is some real tabloid style bullshit. There are disasters happening all over, both foreign and domestic. Yet we’ve got reporters more interested in covering politics like some reality tv show.

Then there was that time in 2004 when NYT discovered Bush/Cheney was *illegally* eavesdropping on Americans, but sat on the story upon the orders of the WH, only to publish it *after* Bush's win because Jim Risen was going to break the story in his book

How is it that I think Russiagate is overblown but still want to see Trump impeached and so many Russiagate true believers don't?

Hillary on one of her husband’s accusers: “Well, I would say that everyone should be believed at first until they are disbelieved on evidence.” Of course she went straight to the disbelief because what else could she do? Give up power and access to save her self-respect?
