Launching a Substack has proven to be a surprisingly good experience. Not only is it great to have little more room to write, but having less ephemeral discussions is nice, too: oneusefulthing.substack.com

This is great to hear! I've been thinking of getting on Substack - but I still need to learn the nuts and bolts of the platform. It does seem to support quality work, though. And that's mighty rare these days.
