people asking if I like the Matrix sequels like they haven’t found themselves unable to sleep at night, due to a persistent droning in the distance, and upon listening, they found it to be my voice saying, “but you see the architect scene is a cinematic masterstroke"

Oh this is gonna be really interesting. Last film that got a polarised reception that I loved was LNiS, so I have high hopes for it.

What are your opinions of the original trilogy? I loved 1, was really excited and intrigued by 2, and loathed 3. I'm not sure if I want to emotionally invest in 4.

I'd say you didn't really love the first film if that's your take. The second and third film and really really good and bring the world and the path of the one together. Try understanding the film first or this won't be your thing.

Best possible review.

I was going to watch this anyway, it's kind of hard not to when you're part of a fandom that loves movies as a part of the fandom, but this is a ringing endorsement. Emily knows her stuff.
