Thanks to all the Internet Dads for the think pieces about how reporters ignored the lab theory. Have been reporting on this for more than a year. Conclusion since last summer has not changed: leak theory is possible, worth pursuing, but no conclusive evidence either way — so far

As much as I am grateful for their authoritative takes and unparalleled gravitas, I only want to hear from Internet Dads who are not fresh off their first Twitter thread about furin cleavage sites and/or who picked up the phone to report this story before this week

That’s not the issue. The issue was calling an investigation just starting out as a conspiracy theory and now acting like there’s no “conclusive evidence” while it’s still ongoing.

        1) Making accusations without evidence is 'conspiracy theory' 2) There literally is "no conclusive evidence" I'm not sure what else you want people to say. Does "unsubstantiated allegations" make you feel better?

That’s literally the evidence: disappearing scientists, taking lab documents off their website, deleting research, preventing investigators access. You only do that if you know that’s where it came from - especially as doing all this will arouse suspicion.

it's so hard to tell who's telling the truth nowadays. It's a shame.
