In our Western/US imperialistic imposed hellscape of a world, I'd rather you look at the reality which is that the repeated trauma of being an immigrant to this country lends itself to narcissism instead and their imposed harmful dynamics on empathetic offspring.

The most frustrating narrative I've seen lately in Asian American media is that we expect the immigrant mother to realize, acknowledge and accept their children's whole senses of self and to APOLOGIZE for years of passing down intergenerational trauma.
