    Hey Micro peeps:: Two grad students in my lab, Chantal Guegler and Peter Culviner, developed a super easy DIY kit for rRNA depletion for RNA-seq. Works like the RiboZero kit that inexplicably stopped selling - ours is as good and way cheaper!

    Chen et al. 2020 SBB show experimental N fertilization drives a decline in soil pH, in turn a suppression of microbial activity, an increase in particulate organic matter and a loss of mineral associated organic matter. Really nicely done!
