The housing crisis hurts people across all income levels EXCEPT the wealthy, impedes upward mobility, and exacerbates poverty.

And impedes geographic mobility - it makes it a lot harder for people in depressed areas to move where the jobs are, when economically thriving places have very expensive housing.
