Researchers in conservation often face a particular set of ethical dilemmas, especially the ECRs doing fieldwork. We argue more attention needs to be given to this in training, reviews and journals, etc... 👇

  4. It's a cliché but as I come to the end of my PhD I'm very aware of how little I know. Is it weird to feel like I need to do one (or several) more PhDs? 😅

Please read my story in !!!! This story took me five years to write and was inspired by all the confused and curious Cambodian-American children and their parents who, like mine, survived the Khmer Rouge Regime’s labor concentration camps and genocide.

  7. On the contrary, it's important that everybody can and does see the climate crisis as a personal crisis - and having a diverse range of messengers with diverse stories is important for that

Australia, India, Canada, Egypt and South Africa, among a host of others, have all dissolved their governments in a show of awestruck admiration for the British lion’s newfound mighty roar.

is also a sad day for me. I'm from a Dutch family but was raised in the UK. I've been back and forth since my teens. I never really had to question my identity or choose one place over the other until now. Even with settled status I've lost many rights

Conservation research always involves interacting with people, but little or no training is given in how to do it. Our new paper in outlines the difficulties and offers advice on how to avoid conflicts of power and values

Communities across southern Africa respond to discussions about trophy hunting: "acknowledge our conservation successes and our right to earn a livelihood through the sustainable management of our resources. Any less is to deny our human rights."
