Did you read a different account to me? She repeatedly moved her hand away and he repeatedly put it back on his crotch. She told him, "maybe next time" and "I don't want to do this" and he continued trying it on. He hasn't denied any of her account. Do you not see coercion here?
I think that Bari Weiss characterization is near to the mark: he's guilty of not being able to read her mind. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/01/15/opinion/aziz-ansari-babe-sexual-harassment.html …
I am a proud feminist, and this is what I thought while reading Grace’s story: If you are hanging out naked with a man, it’s safe to assume he is going to try to have sex with you. | Bari Weiss @bariweiss
It is very likely and common, so yes expected. Nobody is suggesting this is unusual behaviour. But please recognise that this behaviour is wrong. Fair of him to try once... Not fair of him to persist so much after she repeatedly declined, naked or not.
Yes, but lumping together Aziz with a long list of predatory rapist monsters is going too far, as @bariweiss and @CaitlinPacific have pointed out. The hit piece was uncalled for.
@OsitaNwanevu addresses the whole 'lumping them together' thing. Grace didn't do that, and "A Vox article on Grace’s encounter argues it’s worthy of discussion precisely because it was “ordinary.”" https://slate.com/culture/2018/01/the-reaction-to-the-aziz-ansari-allegations-shows-metoo-is-more-measured-than-its-critics-claim.html …
