More than 50 Amazon US warehouses have had known COVID-19 cases. Workers, senators, attorneys general have raised the alarm about warehouse safety, and Amazon's ‘particularly insufficient’ response.
Great reporting from @KYWeise and @kateconger.

Why are workers risking their lives and "endangering the community" to ship nonessential items? Amazon says it's prioritizing essential items (how?), but admitted it would still ship non-essential items like "a prom dress or a Ping-Pong table." 3/pic.twitter.com/ypNAIvtxfu

*Anytime* people gather it puts those individuals AND the community in grave danger. That's why so many states are in lock down, including NY. Now think about warehouses with *thousands* of workers. Why ask them to take these risks for nonessential items? 4/

Oh and about that sick pay. The first worker who was known to test positive for COVID-19 told Amazon about his results on March 18th (his doctor called him at work and they sent him home). He still has not gotten his sick pay. /end
