The South is objectively the worst part of the US. There is some looking down the nose, but much of the scorn is well deserved.

people are going to die because of bullshit attitudes like this and no one will give a shit because who cares about a bunch of dumb rednecks right? never mind that the south has the largest concentration impoverished minority communities, fuck em all

People are going to die because the South has a political system that disenfranchises those minority communities and keeps idiots like Brian “we just learned [obvious fact]” Kemp in power. And they do their best to force that system on the rest of the country.

No, just the majority that’s been doing it’s best to turn our country into an apartheid state since 1776.

Nope, just a regular guy who resents all the ways the South’s idiotic politics has made my life, thousands of miles away, measurably worse over the course of my life.

Consider that it is the white supremacists around you, that founded your city and state and run much of it, that are doing that, and not the majority being held hostage by a government they didn't vote for thousands of miles away. Maybe your problems are actually with you.

Nice red herring. This whole country was founded by white supremacists. Abraham Lincoln was a white supremacist. The (obvious) difference between the South and most of the rest of the country is that the rest of us have done our best to confront that.

Dudeeeeeeee read the room. This article is about people in the South dying due to failed health policy, probably not the time to pick on those dying people, of which the majority will be people of color because of our state govt’s failed health AND economic policies.

Sit down for what? I pointed out that the South's politics are fucked up and that the South's political class screws up the rest of the country. I'm pretty sure everyone agrees. It's just a weird Southern thing that forces them to argue with anyone who criticizes the South.

If you’re pretty sure everyone agrees then you can’t read, which would explain a lot
