People are going to die because the South has a political system that disenfranchises those minority communities and keeps idiots like Brian “we just learned [obvious fact]” Kemp in power. And they do their best to force that system on the rest of the country.

Consider that it is the white supremacists around you, that founded your city and state and run much of it, that are doing that, and not the majority being held hostage by a government they didn't vote for thousands of miles away. Maybe your problems are actually with you.
