While Uber is "exploring" offering compensation to drivers who are quarantined, @LegalRideshare already has started a fund for this. Uber's hands are tied because sick pay is a sign of employment and they are fighting to keep drivers as independent contractors.

This headline is misleading. AFAIK, Amazon has NOT committed to paying Seattle Area 1) warehouse workers and Whole Food workers (Amazon owns Whole Foods), 2) hourly workers in areas outside of Seattle which are also effected by COVID-I9 outbreaks.
