This would buy us precious time to develop and mass distribute vaccines.

Yes, there will be issues, but other countries are doing this and containing and delaying the disease. We need emergency economic aid. The two richest men in the world live in the Seattle area. The point is: even with all the issues both of you raised, closing schools would significantly save lives and slow the transmission of this virus.
