I love this subtweet. This person’s timeline — and I would bet money we are thinking of the same person — was driving me absolutely batty yesterday.

I also think his meltdown was purposeful, intentional, strategic. To attack messengers, rather than the validity of the facts that they brought. His faux outrage about the messengers was so transparent. Too bad so many of them fell for it instead of calling it out for what it was

Exactly. And it works. It deflects. Making it so personally about the messenger is a brilliant tactic for deflection. And journalists, even in the Trump era, still get befuddled and rattled – but this itself is part of the strategy.
