Happy @veganuary everybody! Start now, keep going. The change to a plant-based diet is not optional, for any of us, so might as well get started on figuring it out.

I became vegan (whole food, plant based) in 2015 purely for health reasons (I had no idea of the climate benefits). I love being vegan! Heart disease is the # 1 killer of men and women in the US. Plant-based diets not only protect our climate, they protect our hearts and health.

We haven't managed to go full vegan yet, but we started reducing meat product consumption after reading the Drawdown book. We also substantially reduced gluten, and it has been pretty eye opening how much difference it makes.

I highly recommend watching the documentary “Forks Over Knives” (it’s on Netflix). It changed my life, and made me want to go vegan for selfish reasons (my health!) Then read
@nutrition_facts’s book How Not To Die. Soooo good. https://www.amazon.com/dp/1250066115/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_3undEbZ3H0NB5 …2 replies 0 retweets 1 like -
