The critique is not that all media, all of the time is "ignoring it." Rather, that significant coverage is lacking a significant amount of the time – not that it is *never* covered. And therefor does not give public proper context to understand how climate impacted X event.
And media *does* ignore climate in very important moments that have utterly failed the public. Can you honestly say NYT and CNN were dong their jobs here? Not a, um, middle school debate... the debate between candidates one of whom may be the next leader of the most powerful nation on earth who's policies would make or break us staving off climate catastrophe. Not asking the question signals to the public that it's not important.
