Right? I struggle with this a lot having most of my family in Arizona (3 baby nieces and nephews born in the last 9 months and another under one who's a toddler) + activism where in-person relationships can make so much more happen on a large scale.
My advice as one also with remote family: If we visit, this signals to family members, local friends & online friends that there is no climate emergency; all is still normal. I believe (absent overwhelming family emergency) this deeply undercuts others' motivation for change.
