Today is the 50th anniversary of Woodstock. It’s hard to hear the Boomer nostalgia for that moment, in such stark contrast to the realities of world they’re handing down to us.

I wonder if some of the Boomers' defensiveness on this thread is partly due to agism they've faced. I see agism on their part toward younger people. But on the other hand, I see our gen also dismissing them, and what they've learned and done.

Questions I'm thinking about: how can I/we expand our empathy for one another? Make spaces for people (of every gen) to be angry, scared, heartbroken, truly listened to. Respected. How can we build relationships, enjoy one another, and then fight like hell. Together.
