And I hate it but I feel like the degree would give me more opportunities to make real change? Maybe I'm just imagining that though.
How so? What do you consider "real change"? How would this degree help you do this?

Opportunities to work with the city, or other governments. Ability to influence policy. Foot in the door at higher decision making levels.

It's harder finding a job in the enviro/climate sector if your training is English and writing teacher. It would be about further training.
