Racism kills people. It's vicious, cruel. Profoundly wrong and unfair. For white people, it's important to fight against racism for our fellow human beings. Another reason: for our own humanity. Racism has warped our sense of reality. Our relationship with ourself, and others.

It truly is. I mentioned in another thread that it wasn't until I was 32-33 that I realized how ingrained anti-blackness was in my own thought process & behaviors, family, community...etc. I'm grateful for those who held me accountable but also gave me an opportunity to do better

Yes, I am *so* grateful. It took a lot of love and generosity on the part of a friend who pointed out some of my anti-blackness racism that took *years* for me to fully understand. When I did, I sobbed and sobbed (not with her).
