1] I like to think of myself as a rational person. Someone skeptical of behavioral or cultural change. A believer in economic incentives.

3] But I have been shocked by the lack of a tsunami of the best human capital to work on this problem. From those who are capable of absorbing the financial cost. Frankly, I am shocked by my fellow Williams students, shocked by my former Bain colleagues, shocked by my VC friends.

From my own experience, it's a combo of 1) the climate crisis is VERY hard to face; many know it's bad, but don't *really* know how bad it is. And they feel disconnected, don't know what to do, 2) the culture doesn't treat this as an emergency, everything seems relatively "ok."
