This is so overtly ruthless and bold, but it is Google’s way of sending a clear message to everyone not to ever dare speaking truth to power again, or pay a very hefty price. And they know this kind of intimidation works. Not everyone is so brave and selfless to take such risk.
I think Google very foolishly underestimates the #meToo
movement and how fed up women (and others) are of attacks and attempts to silence women on sexism and sexual harassment. I think there will be a huge backlash and they will regret ever thinking about doing this.
