Thread from one of the amazon employees. Among other things, Amazon board doesn’t understand climate-related financial risks.... and couldn’t be bothered to find out? (see #33-35)https://twitter.com/emahlee/status/1119687611667193856 …
Notice how Amazon leads with its carbon footprint and the other programs are vague and piecemeal.

Amazon's top leader in sustainability wasn't even aware we have an oil and gas business. This is not to blame this person, but clearly shows the company does not have an adequate companywide climate plan, and raises concerns that it is not evaluating risk appropriately.

Our open letter lays out much of the issues with Amazon's approach to climate, and gives a path forward:https://medium.com/@amazonemployeesclimatejustice/public-letter-to-jeff-bezos-and-the-amazon-board-of-directors-82a8405f5e38 …

Unlike many (most?) Fortune 500 companies, Amazon hasn't released its carbon footprint (tho they finally committed to). Amazon's been focused on it so, to them, it's a big deal. And yeah, it's a good...step. But it's not enough. What are they DOING with this info?
