Last comment before I get back to working on my book: I refuse to call a man 'she' because he identifies as a woman. That goes against my core beliefs as a woman & as a social scientist. NO ONE should have to participate in their own oppression. #WarOnWomen #FemaleErasure

You're right that sexism is an enormous oppression. But trans women aren't out to get cis women, they're not out to erase us. They're doing their best to be themselves in the best way they know how. Why would anyone decide to join a group that is under constant threat of death?
Calling someone by their preferred pronoun is about respect and dignity. You can have your own beliefs and still extend respect and kindness to others. A parent may have a core belief that being gay is "wrong" yet they can still acknowledge their daughter's partner as her family.

No. Please learn about this issue. I follow some incredible people and have saved some worthwhile research, articles and links to blogs in my Moments and Bookmarks. The reality is much grimmer than what you’ve been fed by the mainstream media.
