Why do anti-racists and the political left keep stumbling So hard on antisemitism? Because we’ve convinced ourselves that we don’t have to get it. We’ve now become smug in our resistance to understanding it and then act shocked when our stumbles get turned into wedge attacks.pic.twitter.com/R7SeeZwaMQ
Eric, so many people are confused about antisemitism, and don't register what Rep Omar did as antisemitism. I called this out on another thread and got a lot of replies like this one: "AIPAC IS a powerful Lobby influencing us though." It has over 100 likes.

They don't register it as antisemitism because it isn't antisemitism. Trust your instincts on this. Signed, a Jew.

Rep Omar herself "unequivocally apologized." My instincts have found this to be deeply troubling. Have had a bad feeling in my gut all morning.https://twitter.com/IlhanMN/status/1095046561254567937 …

Folks are saying, "but lobbying IS an issue. They exist to exert influence. Why can't we talk about this one? Criticism of AIPAC/Israel is not the same thing as anti-semitism." How do you personally explain this to folks? They don't get it, but many genuinely want to.
