YouTube's decision to remove verification status from several channels continues to show a propping up of Mainstream Media over Independent Media on the platform. It's already difficult to compete with corporations and networks, it'll be even harder to do it unverified.

i think is not bad , look like they want to make harder to fake channels, or personalitys. if is well done can be usefull for everyone, if they used it to burried unverified chanells on the search , then that is a problem.

Problem is the opposite effect is happening. They're making it even more difficult to be Verified. Now people with a million subscribers are losing their verifications. The only people that get the verifications now are big businesses & celebrities. You & I can never be verified.

it need to be more hardder ... the point , the point is not to make it impossible. and if they are removing the verified status with out a previus warning is a bad implementation. you need to warned the contents creators , to give time to do the new verification before.

@TeamYouTube the only problem i see is " clear need for proof of authenticity" is not every content creator got the need for proof that this channel is his original channel ? since everyone can impersonat any channel now, and forced content creators to actively search them....1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes
