People pre-emptively complained about the event ruining their experience, thus ruining the event for everybody.
For everyone wondering if there are any ghouls around... yep. Here is a ghoul in SW, on a very low pop realm (4 ppl in the city). Got killed by guards in 2 seconds. The thing is, people bawled their eyes out so violently because they might not be able to do what they do everyday in the last 3 weeks of the expansion, that they got panic-nerfed by Blizzard on PTR. Thats all we get probably.

So... No worries! The event might be totally ruined and the fun of the end of Burning Crusade leading to Wrath will stay a faint, distant past, but at least everyone could camp AFK in front of the Auction House and to their scalping.

from what i have been told apparently this coming reset it's suppose to get worse? at least i hope it does, like what's the point of my magic doom broom if there's no ghoul goop to clean up!
