I'm not over Anduin being yoinked at his dad's tomb while Genn looks on as a man he sees as another son gets taken away bY THE WOMAN WHO KILLED HIS ACTUAL SON-- and my lizard brain wants to believe it's also foreshadowing a Varian cameo but who knows
Since Sylvanas seems to have a personal grudge against Anduin now, my theory is that if we see Varian appear, it will be to hurt Anduin more, since they already had a "goodbye" moment together. Controlled by Sylvanas or something like that...

g o d that's a thought. That being said Anduin is still grieving over his dad and might be having a hard time moving past it, so perhaps a proper goodbye would help? WHO KNOWS it's all gonna be angsty either way!

Everything tends to have a symbolism in the cinematics. The call back to the MoP one was "Son, I trust you to do what needs to be done, just like you trusted me to do it." It was the conclusion of Anduin's doubts. Maybe now, he just needs to say goodbye as a son, not as a prince!
