Even if some of the public doesn’t care about the credibility score, the journalists, editors & publications will. It is how they define themselves.

Create a media credibility rating site (that also flags propaganda botnets)

Maybe you should give the guys at Snopes or Politifact a call to help you with that.
-
Maybe some good people from those orgs who would join
-
Ok well you just lost all conservatives with that. Both of those organizations are anti conservative. So clearly you are looking for a more left leaning bias to try to look credible. That’s a shame
-
They are anti-conservative in the sense that all of conservatism is based on lies and deception, sure.

Except much of the public appears not to care about core truth.

-
Enough of the public does care about the truth. I have faith in the people.

People conflate ideology with truth, when these things do not intersect, they revert to ideology.

Awesome, yelp for journalists.

That's fine, but please do not call it Pravda - irony and sarcasm here are not helpful

But trolls and spambots could ruin it. Need a good plan to counter them
-
Not only needs to be botproof, but seek & unmask anyone operating a disinformation bot army
-
It doesn't even have to be bots. An organized reddit or 4chan attack will distort the truth, also.
-
"4chan and reddit don't count as part of the public."
-
Sure they do. But they're able to mobilize online in a way the general public won't, hence skewing the results.
-
So if the wrong public votes, it's skewed.
-
Voting with the malicious intent to skew the results makes for a useless database. And once the trolls start voting down on one side of the political aisle, the same will happen on the other side. Crowdsourcing is not the answer.
-
If that's your stance, then you already do not value this website and aren't a part of this discussion.
