I'm a fan of your's since reading the Wait But Why pieces, but I am really unhappy w tweets like this. Fanning the flames of the distrust of the media is a thing that authoritarians and demagogues do to ignore criticism and discredit opponents. It's a major problem of our times.

The media has earned this mistrust. But maybe there is a solution.
-
The solution is happening every single day for those with any level of discernment, Elon. It's called The Trump Phenomena. Time for FB, Twitter, YouTube, Google, Reddit, MSM, et al to stop censorship & allow the world to see the truth.

That's why
@WikiLeaks publishes full document archives ("scientific journalism" i.e reproducible results) and why CNN responds like this:https://twitter.com/wikileaks/status/787749117502119936?lang=en …

So the problem here is that your “ratings site” will drive journalists to push your company out of fear of poor ratings. Could be seen as stock manipulation in fact. You illustrate what you say is the problem with the media by highlighting negative stories about your property.
-
I don’t know whether the story you complain about is false or true; I focus on treason, not business. But you threatening to rate journalists ***and using a story about
@tesla*** as an example of fault looks like an attempt to defraud the market by scaring up positive coverage. -
PS: this is very disappointing, as almost everyone I know in my new field admires you. Make your case and promote good stories. Buy a media company. But effective intimidation is beneath you.
-
This plan by Elon sounds like an attack on the media. Where could he have gotten such an idea ?
-
Media telling lies is an open secret. Since when rating is attacking? Millions of business go through review and rating, why should the press be any different?

This is irresponsible. You may disagree with their reporting, but don't undermine the free press.
-
Free press? WTF? How can a corporate controlled narrative be defined in any way, shape or form as 'free press'? Free to manipulate, influence and control yes! THIS IS THE FREE PRESS!! But you've just made a complete mockery of it and its very ideals. Irresponsible AND dangerous!
-
There are far better issues on which to challenge Elton without contradicting yourself and the values of something I deem as sacrosanct - and I implore you to do some research on the evils of the US mainstream media - you'll be ashamed you ever implied that

-
You're going a bit overboard, friend. No, it's not perfect. Yes, they can do better. But undermining them even further...How does that help?

Press lies, Adrienne "nothing to see here" move along

Safest doesnt mean that it cant crash. And im sure his cars are safer than most
-
They're safer than all the rest.
-
Eeeeeh what? Tesla voluntarily recalls 123,000 vehicles. ...Tesla said ... "This primarily makes the car harder to drive at low speeds and for parallel parking, but does not materially affect control at high speed, where only small steering wheel force is needed,"
