I think it would be more efficient to put the dirt in a large mixer and 3D-print bricks, or even load-bearing sections of housing. Maybe we could use AI to produce a better framing for a house even? Homes nowadays are basically wood frames with the rest layered over.

You could also use pyrolysis and mycorrhizae on the soil you dig up, sell the soil for gardening and then use the money to 3D print affordable housing.
