I'll bet you in 15 years that hyper loop is profitable and running from New York to California.

Forgive me Elon, huge fan of what you do, but I question if @boringcompany is actually using First Principals to solve for a real solution.

Why would we add the infrastructure burden of a new transit paradigm when we can simply reduce our ecological impact w/ smaller vehicles?

For the past 4 yrs I've used an ebike as my primary mode of transit in SF. I don't see why we need a 5,000lbs vehicle to move us around

E-bikes? Sure, how long does it take from NYC to DC with one?

Too long, but can you imagine a future where more people aren't reliant on cars 20x their weight to get 10-15 miles? That's the avg commute.

I can and support as principle incentives for cleanest 30 min or less transport for purpose. 30 min walk, bike, mass trans, car, hyloop..BFR

Perhaps, I think right now we are too reliant on vehicles that are absurdly heavy, which then require much more fuel than what it should be.
