Why did camera on drone ship loose connection??
-
-
-
It always does. Because the drone ship shakes as the rocket approaches, throwing off aim of the dish antenna sending signal to relay vessel.
-
Does it record locally so we get to see a better version later?
-
Yes. We'll get surely get better video in the next few days as have for most previous drone ship landings where the feed *always* breaks up.
-
Which means *it doesn't work for its intended purpose*. Maybe it's a low priority, IDK. Things to fix ... --> Live feed of landing <-- ...
-
Yes, why doesn't Elon build a network of cell phone towers in the middle of the ocean so he can live stream from there? :P
-
Ha! Much simpler and cheaper solutions already exist. When they want to fix it, they will. I wonder if the "blackout" is intentional.
-
And of course the blackout isn't intentional. They don't "blackout" land landings. And they show us the hard-copy recorded video later.

Were you mean to it because it won't be reused again?

"We have a lot of boosters building up, we should see how hard we can land one" -- Elon, probably
-
Hey, that's a valid test scenario! I'm sure they've done it hundreds, nay thousands of times in simulations
-
I do it regularly in KSP...
-
Well, i mean if Elon isn't going to become Batman, he can at least play KSP in real life...
-
Have you ever seen Elon and Batman in the same room together
I haven't
