well whatever it decides to do, twitter should be clear and consistent about it’s rules and penalties for breaking them, enforcement should be unbiased, and the mechanisms of enforcement shouldn’t be easily abused by people who have an agenda

I heard from a primary source that political groups would regularly contact twitter to deboost their candidates’ detractors and twitter would happily do that. That seems to put the finger on the scale of democracy.

You're correct, but not in the way you think. There's an internet adage that goes something like "Any unmoderated forum will inevitably become right wing" This is true because leftist ideology cannot withstand logical examination/scrutiny. It needs censorship to survive.

“Conservative” candidates are more likely to lie, spread disinformation, incite violence, spread messages of fear and hate about “others” such as LGBTQ & BIPOC. They were justly punished and frankly got away with too much.
