NEWS: Tesla has now officially removed the mobile connector as a standard accessory with every new car purchase.
You can purchase it separately for $400 here: https://shop.tesla.com/product/corded-mobile-connector…
Makes sense actually. Can it automatically be included on the order flow? Otherwise people will get their cars without it and will need to wait weeks without a reliable charging cable.
Why not make it optional but free? People who don't need it won't select it and Tesla won't waste $ giving it to them. People that do need to will be able to get it for free though. Seems reasonable to me I hope you agree.
Makes sense to keep costs down, as I very rarely use mine. Just hope that people who need one are able to get one with delivery if they need one easily.
Anything you could do to bring the price down will be helpful too. Buying the car then paying $400 - $500 = bad taste in mouth
I will say though that in the rare occasion where I do use it, it is godsend
recommend everyone keep one in their trunk just in case. love going away for vacation and plugging into a 110V at an airbnb and charging up slowly over the weekend
