Just curious, now that the total number of Tesla’s on the road have increased dramatically, how aggressive are you going to be with additional supercharging stations? I know Minneapolis is a dead zone, same with many other places. At least now you can make $ off the superchargers

I still cannot believe some US state governments would block direct sales of newer automobile manufacturers. It is why I recommended
@WhitWolfeHerd and@Smile_Lee for@Tesla’s Board of Directors, I think they could help rectify the situation. -
I can. The US is the furthest thing imaginable from an open market.
-
A difficult balance of open market, legitimate business environments, & protecting consumers. A simple Japanese-Canadian’s observation; the system the US has of states competing, while it isn’t perfect, mitigates much of the issues. Partially why the US is such a strong economy.
-
I suppose that's fair. Still, however, you know better than anyone that the prohibition of Tesla has more to with the pockets of the rich rather then consumer interests. Also very noticeable regarding ISPs.
-
Absolutely, and I believe that cronyism tends to be the main culprit behind that.

That he does. A few examples of hell by the ol' Musky: production, delivery, payment, tax, forging, bonehead, lawyer, car carrier, self driving, Drupal, Enterprise Resource Planning, litigation, surf boat, puddle, vampire train, shorts, SEC, fraud chapter 11... The list goes on.

Amazing that despite 16 states making it difficult for Tesla to sell cars, they had record U.S. sales in Q3 and are likely to break those records again in Q4. By New Year’s Eve, more than half of the Teslas in the U.S. will be 2018 models!

It could be interesting to know the amount of cars delivered by each Tesla delivery center vs each dealer (1200 for Toyota in USA)
-
In 2016, 17,5 M
sold in USA dealers showrooms
- 1200 Toyota
- 200 Lexus
- 3000 Ford
- ...
38000 TOTAL
460
/ dealer / year
less 9
/ dealer / week
https://www.statista.com/statistics/190322/number-of-automotive-franchise-establsihments-in-the-us/ … -
Did you just say the average car dealer in the U.S. sells 9 cars per week??
-
Not much mmmh ! 17,5000,000 / 38,000 = 8.8 / week
-
I did want to estimate for Tesla In Q3 2018 Tesla delivered 80,000
Let’s assume 70,000 at least in NA
But I don’t have the amount of Tesla delivery center, and some were temporary during the end of Q delivery push -
I counted 84 Tesla Service centers in
and
70,000 / 84 / 13 = 64
/ week in Q3
7 times more than average non-Tesla dealers
It’s a very rough estimate, on the fly, I would like to elaborate... -
Even if you go with the higher sales center count of 111, that’s still 57 cars per location per week on average (83,500 / 111 / 13)
