Everybody commenting about this just being about Trump’s ego, I’m not sure I agree. After his G20 and NK exploits last week, this looks to me like one more deliberate step towards authoritarianism. This isn’t funny, it’s serious. Right @sarahkendzior ?

Trump coopting the military and a national holiday for his personality cult is dangerous itself. But also don't forget Trump put the US under a fake "national emergency" months ago that allows him to deploy troops to use force within the US. Consider his actions in that context.

Yes, with camouflage intended for Europe: basically the Army is sending surplus battle taxis that it couldn't be bothered to repaint for deployment to Iraq or Afghanistan. It is either a "Potemkin tank" or an army-surplus battle taxi.
