Great blog from about our metabarcoding work on #nightjar diet! Our nightjars ate lots of things, but preferred big moths - they have a limited time to feed so makes time v energy expenditure sense.

Currently listening in to Peter Pyle's @InstBirdPop webinar on his updated identification guide. Get ready to lose a ton of subspecies. He's found a bunch of clines of morphological variation that don't break neatly into subspecies and is proposing a more conservative taxonomy.
