I find it upsetting that at least three people in that thread called it a bobcat. At least one of them had the decency to acknowledge that they are incorrect

It’s a cougar. I’m from Calgary, Alberta where there are cougars inside the city.

I'd call it a mountain lion but if someone said 'cougar' this is also the animal I'd picture. West Coast of USA

Most folks in Tennessee call them cougars, but I've heard panther as well. We have a few that migrated here. I saw one crossing a country road late at night years ago and I've never forgotten the way her tail was so long that it dipped across the road.
